Let me just start by saying… I LOVE when a brand shoot feels like hanging out with a friend. That’s exactly what it was like photographing Maryam at my studio in St. Boniface!
Maryam is the face behind Elsier Studios, where she offers hair and lash services for women who love looking good and taking care of themselves. Her brand is fun, feminine, and all about making her clients feel confident and cute—and this shoot was all about bringing that vibe to life.
This was Maryam’s first time getting professional photos done (!!) and she wanted to reintroduce herself to her community with something a little more polished than a selfie—but still totally her. She wasn’t looking for stiff or overly serious. She wanted personality, warmth, and photos that say “I’m the human behind this brand, and I’m so excited you’re here!”
We played her fave R&B and pop playlist (because the vibes have to be right), danced around the studio between shots, and captured a mix of bright, professional images that still felt relaxed and real. No awkward poses or blank stares here—just Maryam being her radiant self and showing the world what she’s all about.
