This was a styled shoot here in Winnipeg’s Allure Studios, meaning our couple was already married but decided to put their wedding garb on just for kicks, and model for us photographers. It may be styled but let me tell you: this shoot was pure magic. Alyssa and Jonah were such a vibe and I could just FEEL how in love they were the entire time.
We shared a ton of laughs, caught some steamy moments, and ate some pizza. All in all, pretty representative of a wedding day if you ask me! We were missing a wedding party, and the ceremony (obviously) but its was still so so special. Coming off this shoot I was just so stoked and inspired, not to mention ready to shoot a live wedding ASAP.
Every couple is so unique when it comes to their wedding day, and the photos they prioritize. Some prefer candids, others want to cherish detail shots and styling. All I want YOU to think about is how you want to feel on the day. What is most important to you? Who are the people you want to spend your time with? We’ll chat about all of this before the day so I know what to focus my time on, and you can just have fun!
The number one thing to make sure you include in your wedding day schedule? Alone time. 20 to 40 minutes of just enjoying each other’s company and letting it sink in that you’re finally married!! Take a breath, enjoy the scenery of the venue you chose, and just hang out with your best friend. I will 100% be your unofficial bouncer if I need to!
You know how I know Alyssa and Jonah are my kinda couple? PIZZA!! This was easily the most fun to photograph, especially because Jonah wasn’t actually a huge fan of his toppings and it turned into a running joke.
Nothing says forever like matching tattoos amirite?
Detail shots are such an important part of the wedding day, especially if you’re planning on putting together an album later on! Not only are they a special way to remember the feel of your wedding but they’re one of the best ways to bring more of yourself into the day. They help tell the story of your day – it’s not always flatly and little details but things like getting ready photos, the venue before everyone arrived, or a close up of the ice cream you just HAD to stop and get.
The bouquet was easily one of my favourite parts, the entire colour scheme was such a beautiful, boho vibe with pops of mustard yellow.
The entire shoot had me so excited to shoot more weddings in the future. It was also just such a fun way to hang with other photographers and learn from each other.
So shoutout to Camryn Elizabeth Photo for arranging and styling this shoot, and all of our other amazing vendors from the day:
